A well-run private-billing family practice in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs is looking to welcome a UK-trained GP to the team. Small team, strong nursing support, on-site allied health, and a patient base built around young families — a settled role in a genuinely liveable corner of Melbourne.

This location sits around 30 minutes from central Melbourne in the south-eastern suburbs, close to the Mornington Peninsula and its beaches, wineries, and coastal towns. The area is popular with young families — strong schools, parks and reserves, established community amenities, and easy access to both central Melbourne and the Peninsula for weekends. Melbourne consistently ranks among the world's most liveable cities, with excellent food, arts, and sport, and property across the south-eastern suburbs is meaningfully more affordable than comparable Sydney catchments.

About the practice

The clinic is a small, well-established team of 3–4 GPs supported by a strong nursing and administration team. On-site services include podiatry, physiotherapy, dietetics, pharmacy, and dental — an unusually broad allied health offering for a clinic of this size, which makes for easy multidisciplinary care and straightforward patient referrals. The patient base is mixed but weighted toward young families, with a meaningful elderly caseload as well.

The vacancy has come up because a senior GP is scaling back hours and a younger colleague is taking time out to travel, so this is a genuine replacement role with an existing patient base ready to move across.

Package & earnings

• 70/30 billing split in your favour (service fee 30%, with some flexibility for the right candidate)
• Standard consult fee of AUD $95 ($78 for elderly patients), with GP autonomy to bulk bill where clinically appropriate
• Approximately AUD $150/hr income guarantee for the first 3–4 months while you build your patient base
• Relocation support to be confirmed
• Full-time or part-time considered

Billing model

Predominantly private billing, with GP discretion to bulk bill where appropriate (e.g. concession card holders, clinical judgement).

Visa & AHPRA support

Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration (Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway, depending on your credentials and circumstances) and visa sponsorship — typically the 482 or Skills in Demand visa, with a clear PR pathway. Our team will handle the heavy lifting on paperwork, timelines, and ECFMG/EPIC verification where needed.

• UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
• Interest in family medicine and continuity of care, with a caseload weighted toward young families
• Comfortable in a smaller, tight-knit team with on-site allied health support
• Open to relocating to Melbourne and embracing Victorian lifestyle — beaches, wine country, and the city all accessible
