GP - Mixed Billing | DPA | MM1 | Central Coast NSW (3 Sites)
- AUD $250,000 – $500,000 per year
- Australia, New South Wales
- Permanent
A family-owned GP group on the NSW Central Coast is looking to welcome multiple UK-trained GPs across its three coastal sites. The group has been operating for over 35 years, is independently owned and explicitly non-corporate, and is one of the cleaner ESP-friendly opportunities currently available in NSW. With strong patient demand, robust ESP supervision capacity, 482 visa sponsorship in place, and a procedural medicine and skin cancer mentorship pathway, this is a substantive opportunity rather than speculative pipeline.
Location & registration status
- Suburbs: Central Coast NSW
- DPA status: DPA-approved across all three sites (Medicare provider number available from day one)
- MMM classification: MM1
The Central Coast sits around 90 minutes north of Sydney and 90 minutes south of Newcastle, with direct rail and M1 motorway access into both. The region is one of NSW's fastest-growing lifestyle corridors — coastal living, beaches on your doorstep (Norah Head, Blue Bay), strong schools (including Central Coast Grammar and local Anglican schools), and family-friendly communities. Property prices are dramatically lower than Sydney itself, but Sydney is close enough for family visits, international airport access, and city weekends. For UK GPs wanting coastal lifestyle without giving up Sydney proximity — and wanting a meaningfully lower cost of living than Sydney metro — the Central Coast genuinely delivers.
About the practice group
The group has operated as a family-owned, family-run healthcare organisation for more than three decades, with the same family leadership in place since the early 1990s. The culture is explicitly non-corporate — relationship-driven, long-term, and built around quality care rather than five-minute medicine. Several current GPs have been with the organisation for over ten years, which is unusual retention data and reflects a genuinely supportive working environment.
The group operates three Central Coast sites, each with a distinct clinical and patient profile:
Site 1 — 6 GPs currently consulting with capacity for approximately 6 additional GPs (likely the strongest IMG recruitment site). Patient base of around 5,633 active patients, weighted toward the 60–89 age group, with substantial chronic disease management work — hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, coronary heart disease, anxiety, and depression. On-site adjacent pharmacy, pathology, respiratory physician, physiotherapy, gym, and a Wyong Skin Cancer Clinic. Particularly attractive for experienced UK GPs with chronic disease management or skin cancer interest.
Site 2 — purpose-built multidisciplinary facility with 6 full-time GPs, 6 nurses, and 8 reception staff, serving around 7,300 active patients. Dedicated treatment room, procedure rooms, immunisation clinic, training facilities, and a webinar room. Strong paediatric caseload (around 30% of patients) alongside family medicine and chronic disease work. Several long-tenured GPs (10+ years).
Site 3 — 9 GPs and 6 nurses on the team. Immediate on-site access to X-Ray, CT, MRI, mammography, nuclear medicine, physiotherapy, psychology, dental, and pathology. Strongest fit for procedural GPs and those with sub-specialty interests wanting multidisciplinary support.
Across all three sites, patient demand is strong — appointments routinely book a week ahead, and recently recruited GPs have built full books quickly.
Procedural and skin cancer mentorship — a genuine differentiator. The group has dedicated skin clinics, procedure rooms, and experienced mentors across procedural medicine. UK GPs wanting to develop skin cancer medicine, minor surgery, or other procedural skills will find genuine mentorship support, observation sessions, and course guidance available.
Package & earnings
- 70/30 billing split in your favour (30% service fee — non-negotiable, with the practice's position being that the substantial nursing, reception, billing, and IT support infrastructure justifies the level)
- Income guarantees available while you build your patient base — historically rarely required because most new doctors exceed guarantees quickly given patient demand
- Strong nursing utilisation handles care plans, vaccinations, chronic disease support, and procedure assistance — maximising GP clinical time and earnings
- Relocation support to be confirmed per candidate
- Full-time or part-time considered across all sites
Billing model
Mixed billing — a blend of private fees and bulk billing across the patient base.
Visa & AHPRA support
Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration, with explicit preference for and supervision capacity for Expedited Specialist Pathway (ESP) candidates — the practice has deliberately structured its UK recruitment around ESP rather than traditional Level 1–3 supervision models. 482 visa sponsorship is in place and the group has direct experience supporting international doctors through registration and arrival.
Our team will handle the heavy lifting on AHPRA paperwork, ESP timelines, visa, and ECFMG/EPIC verification where needed, working alongside a practice group that genuinely understands UK-to-Australia transitions and is set up operationally to support them.
Who we're looking for
- UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
- Particularly suited to ESP candidates — the group has structured its international recruitment around the Expedited Specialist Pathway and offers strong supervision infrastructure
- Interest in any of: chronic disease management, paediatrics, women's health, skin cancer medicine, procedural work, or multidisciplinary care
- Comfortable in a family-owned, non-corporate environment with long-term clinician relationships
- Open to relocating to the NSW Central Coast and embracing coastal lifestyle with Sydney proximity
- Long-term mindset — the group prioritises retention and would welcome GPs interested in settling for the long term
Next steps
Send your CV to aus@bdiresourcing.com or get in touch to schedule a call with our team — we'll talk through the role, which site might suit you best, the AHPRA pathway, ESP timelines, visa options, and what life actually looks like once you're here.
Even if you're still a year or two away from relocating, it's worth an early conversation — the ESP and visa process takes time to do properly, and this is a group that plans its international recruitment carefully rather than expecting last-minute arrivals.
