GP - Mixed Billing | DPA | MM1 | North Perth WA

GP-50
  • AUD $250,000 – $500,000 per year
  • Australia, Western Australia
  • Permanent

Direct PR sponsorship after just 6 months — meaningfully faster than the standard 2-year wait — is the headline offer at this Northern Perth practice looking to welcome a UK-trained GP to its team urgently. For UK GPs prioritising a fast, clear path to Australian permanent residency alongside strong earnings and lifestyle, this is one of the more genuinely differentiated opportunities currently available in WA general practice.

Location & registration status

  • Suburb: North Perth WA
  • DPA status: DPA-approved (Medicare provider number available from day one)
  • MMM classification: MM1

The suburb sits in Perth's northern coastal corridor, around 30 minutes from the CBD and adjacent to Joondalup — one of Northern Perth's major regional centres, with a hospital, university campus, extensive shopping, and direct train access into central Perth. The area is one of Perth's more affluent northern suburbs, popular with families for its strong schools, established amenities, and quick access to some of WA's best beaches. Perth itself offers world-class weather, a lower cost of living than Sydney or Melbourne, and genuine outdoor lifestyle — the Swan Valley wine region, the Indian Ocean, and Rottnest Island all within easy reach. Property in the northern suburbs is substantially more affordable than comparable Sydney or Melbourne catchments.

The immediate community includes a meaningful proportion (around 30%) of English, Irish, and South African residents — a notably established expat community that often makes the transition into Northern Perth suburban life relatively straightforward for UK arrivals.

About the practice

This is a doctor-led general practice serving Northern suburbs of Perth, with a patient base of around 8,000 across the surrounding suburbs. The practice is part of a larger GP clinic network in Western Australia — offering the operational support and infrastructure of a large group (HR, IT, billing, admin, professional development) alongside genuine local autonomy at the practice level. GPs make their own clinical and billing decisions; the network provides the backbone.

The team includes an established English-trained GP already in post, along with two part-time GPs, and the practice is genuinely under capacity. That creates a real, immediate opportunity — an incoming GP walks into strong existing patient demand rather than building from scratch.

Clinical scope is broad: family medicine, women's and men's health, paediatrics, chronic disease management, elderly care, emergency medicine, wound care and suturing, antenatal and post-natal care, mental health, skin cancer checks, iron infusions, implanon insertion/removal, steroid injections, driving medical assessments, and pre-employment medicals. Clinic hours run Monday to Saturday with alternate Friday hours — no Sunday obligation.

Package & earnings

  • 70/30 billing split in your favour, with the potential to increase to 72.5/27.5 after 1 year for the right candidate
  • AUD $160–$180/hr income guarantee for the first 3 months while you build your patient base (specific rate to be confirmed)
  • Relocation allowance likely available — to be confirmed per candidate
  • 2-year contract
  • Mixed billing model with GP autonomy — bulk billing available at your discretion; standard practice is bulk billing for concession cardholders only
  • Full-time or part-time considered

Billing model

Mixed billing with individual GP autonomy — bulk billing for concession cardholders as standard, with private billing for other patients and GP discretion to bulk bill more broadly if you prefer.

Visa & AHPRA support

Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration (Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway depending on your credentials) and 482 visa sponsorship. Crucially, this practice offers something genuinely rare:

Direct permanent residency sponsorship available after just 6 months — once initial supervision conditions have been lifted. This is meaningfully faster than the standard 2-year wait on 482 that most Australian practices offer, and represents a real financial and life-planning advantage for UK GPs wanting to secure their Australian future quickly.

Our team will handle the heavy lifting on AHPRA paperwork, visa timelines, and ECFMG/EPIC verification where needed, working with a practice network that has significant institutional experience supporting international GPs.

Who we're looking for

  • UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
  • Interest in broad-scope general practice — family medicine, chronic disease, minor procedures, skin, antenatal
  • Suited to both fellowed GPs and ESP candidates
  • Long-term mindset — the fast PR pathway is designed for GPs planning to establish themselves permanently in Australia
  • Open to relocating to Perth and embracing the WA lifestyle, particularly Northern Perth's coastal-suburban character

Next steps

Send your CV to aus@bdiresourcing.com or get in touch to schedule a call with our team — we'll talk through the role, the AHPRA pathway, the accelerated PR sponsorship offer, and what life actually looks like once you're here.

Given the practice is currently under capacity and moving quickly on suitable candidates, early conversations are particularly valuable here — the AHPRA and visa process takes time to do properly, and this is a role where fast, well-organised candidates will have the strongest position.
