Erina sits at the commercial heart of the NSW Central Coast, around 90km north of central Sydney and 90 minutes south of Newcastle by road or rail. The Central Coast is one of NSW's fastest-growing lifestyle regions — coastal living, beaches, semi-rural surroundings, family-oriented communities, and property prices dramatically lower than Sydney itself. Erina is a genuine regional retail and commercial hub, so amenities are strong: schools, shopping, allied services, and easy access to the surrounding beaches and national parks. Sydney is close enough for occasional city visits and international airport access without daily commute costs, and Newcastle to the north offers a coastal city alternative for weekends.

About the practice

This is an independently-owned, doctor-led general practice with 6–7 GPs on the current roster, operating out of modern premises in Erina. The clinical model is deliberately built around specialty clinics within a general practice framework: alongside standard family medicine, the practice runs dedicated:

• Skin Cancer Clinic — the standout clinical asset. Separately branded with its own website, medical-grade Nd:YAG (Excel V+) laser technology, and a reputation as one of the larger skin cancer clinics on the Central Coast. Standard skin check fee AUD $140 per appointment
• Women's Health Clinic — full range of women's health services including PAP smears, breast checks, sexual health, contraceptive advice, and menopausal management
• Diabetic Clinic — dedicated diabetes management and counselling
• Immunisation and Travel Vaccination Clinic — one-stop travel medicine

Billing is mixed and shifts seasonally with patient flow — approximately 80% private / 20% bulk billing in winter, moving toward around 60% bulk billing in summer. Saturday and public holiday appointments and chronic pain management are privately charged as standard.

Clinic hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am–5:00pm, plus Saturday mornings 8:30am–12:00pm — sensible weekday hours with a modest weekend commitment.

The clinical development pathway is genuinely valuable: incoming GPs with existing skin cancer interest can immediately step into the established clinic infrastructure, while GPs who want to develop skin cancer as a sub-specialty can do so through a recommended certification course (details provided by the practice) with the clinic infrastructure ready to support the learning.

Package & earnings

• 65–70% billing split in your favour (specific rate to be confirmed per candidate)
• AUD $150–$180/hr income guarantee for the first 3 months while you build your patient base (specific rate to be confirmed)
• AUD $5,000–$10,000 relocation allowance — paid after 6–12 months in post (see note below)
• Skin cancer clinic offers strong additional per-consult revenue at AUD $140 per check plus procedural work
• Full-time or part-time considered

⚠️ Important note on relocation: the relocation allowance is paid retrospectively (6–12 months into post) rather than upfront at the point of arrival. If you need financial support at the point of relocating to Australia, this needs factoring into your planning — the practice's expectation is that the candidate covers upfront relocation costs and receives the payment as a retention-supporting bonus after settling in.

Billing model

Mixed billing with seasonal variation — approximately 80% private in winter, 60% bulk billing in summer. Bulk billing available at doctor discretion for eligible patients (children under 15, concession card holders, DVA gold card holders). Saturday, public holiday, and chronic pain management appointments are privately billed as standard.

Visa & AHPRA support

Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration (Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway depending on your credentials) and 482 visa sponsorship, with a clear pathway to permanent residency. Our team will handle the heavy lifting on AHPRA paperwork, visa timelines, and ECFMG/EPIC verification where needed.

Who we're looking for

• UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
• Existing skin cancer interest or willingness to develop the sub-specialty via the practice's certification pathway — this is the strongest single fit criterion
• Comfortable with a seasonally-mixed billing model where private billing dominates in winter
• Interest in delivering care across dedicated specialty clinic structures (skin, women's health, diabetes, travel medicine)
• Able to plan financially around a retrospective relocation allowance rather than upfront payment
• Open to relocating to coastal NSW and embracing the Central Coast lifestyle
