GP - Mixed Billing | DPA | MM1 | Northern NSW (Gold Coast)

GP-30
  • AUD $250,000 – $500,000 per year
  • Australia, New South Wales
  • Permanent

A large, well-supported mixed-billing practice in Northern NSW — on the Queensland border at the southern end of the Gold Coast — is looking to welcome a UK-trained GP to its team. The practice is part of a national healthcare network that has been operating since 2012 and has a clear, published track record of supporting UK-trained GPs through relocation, AHPRA registration, and settlement in Australia.

Location & registration status

  • Suburb: NSW (Gold Coast southern border)
  • DPA status: DPA-approved (Medicare provider number available from day one)
  • MMM classification: MM1

This location sits at the southern end of the Gold Coast, straddling the NSW/QLD border with beaches on your doorstep, the Gold Coast CBD a short drive north, and Byron Bay within comfortable reach to the south. This is one of Australia's genuinely iconic lifestyle locations — year-round warm weather, world-class beaches, the hinterland on your doorstep, and Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta) just minutes away for domestic and international connections. Housing is more affordable than Sydney or Melbourne coastal equivalents, schools are strong, and the community blends holiday-destination energy with settled family living.

About the practice

The clinic is part of a national healthcare group operating a small number of medical centres across the ACT, NSW, and VIC. The group has a specific focus on supporting overseas-trained doctors — with a published "Overseas Doctors" pathway, UK-trained doctor testimonials, and strong institutional experience guiding GPs through AHPRA registration, visa sponsorship, and relocation.

This site is a modern, well-equipped multi-room clinic with state-of-the-art facilities, supported by an experienced nursing and administrative team. The practice has strong patient demand for women's health services and is particularly keen to grow capacity in this area. Clinical scope is otherwise broad general practice with genuine clinical variety across the local patient base.

Package & earnings

  • 70/30 billing split in your favour during standard hours
  • 75/25 billing split for out-of-hours consultations
  • Mixed billing model
  • AUD $20,000 relocation allowance
  • Full visa support, including a budget allocated for visa costs
  • Full-time or part-time considered

Billing model

Mixed billing — a blend of private fees and bulk billing across the patient base.

Visa & AHPRA support

Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration (Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway depending on your credentials) and 482 visa sponsorship, with a clear pathway to permanent residency. The group has dedicated infrastructure for supporting overseas-trained doctors — this is not a first-time recruitment for them, and they've successfully supported UK-trained GPs through the same pathway you'd be taking. Our team will handle the heavy lifting on AHPRA paperwork, timelines, and ECFMG/EPIC verification, working alongside a practice that knows the process well.

Who we're looking for

  • UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
  • Interest in broad-scope general practice, with particular interest in women's health welcomed
  • Comfortable in a larger, well-supported clinical environment within a national group
  • Open to relocating to the NSW/QLD border and embracing the Gold Coast lifestyle

Next steps

Send your CV to aus@bdiresourcing.com or get in touch to schedule a call with our team — we'll talk through the role, the AHPRA pathway, visa options, and what life actually looks like once you're here.

Even if you're still a year or two away from relocating, it's worth an early conversation — the AHPRA and visa process takes time to do properly.
