GP - Bulk Billing | DPA | MM1 | South East Perth WA

GP-41
  • AUD $450,000 - $500,000
  • Australia, Western Australia
  • Permanent

well-established, family-owned bulk-billing practice in Perth's south-east is looking to welcome a UK-trained GP to its team. With 14+ years in the community, 10 GPs on the roster, an unusually broad allied health offering on-site, and a patient base of around 16,000 (12,000 active), this is a genuine "ready-made patient base from day one" role — and a setting that's culturally a long way from corporate medicine.

Location & registration status

  • Suburb: South East Perth WA
  • DPA status: DPA-approved (Medicare provider number available from day one)
  • MMM classification: MM1

The location sits in Perth's south-eastern suburbs, around 20km from the CBD, with direct road and rail access into central Perth. The area is an established, family-oriented suburban catchment with a notably stable, mature demographic — strong continuity-of-care opportunities and the kind of patient relationships that get lost in higher-turnover environments. Perth itself offers world-class weather, a lower cost of living than Sydney or Melbourne, and genuine outdoor lifestyle — the Swan Valley wine region, the Indian Ocean, and Rottnest Island all within easy reach. Property prices in the southern suburbs are substantially more affordable than comparable eastern-state catchments.

About the practice

The clinic is independently owned and family-run — not part of a corporate group — and has been serving the local community for over 14 years. The team includes 10 GPs (7 female, 3 male) plus a strong allied health offering on-site: podiatry, physiotherapy, dietitian, psychology, chiropractic, and audiology. The practice is AGPAL accredited and is a WAGPET-accredited training practice, which is a meaningful quality signal.

The patient base sits at around 16,000 total patients, with 12,000 active — and there's a real opening for an incoming GP because of recent workforce changes. One full-time GP has recently retired, and the lead GP is planning to gradually scale back her clinical hours over the coming period. That's left a substantial gap in patient capacity, with an established patient base already in place rather than something to build from scratch.

The clinical work suits a GP who enjoys relationship-based primary care: a meaningful chronic disease burden, regular GP Management Plans and Health Assessments, family medicine across multiple generations, and genuine long-term continuity. The practice operates 7 days a week (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, weekends 9:30am-4pm), which gives flexibility on roster.

The practice transitioned to full bulk billing under the federal Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Programme (BBPIP) in November 2025, meaning Medicare-eligible patients are bulk billed for all eligible services — and the practice now accesses the BBPIP incentive payments on top of standard billings.

Package & earnings

  • 70/30 billing split in your favour (30% service fee)
  • Full bulk billing with BBPIP applied — accessing federal bulk billing incentive structures on top of standard billings
  • AUD $150/hr income guarantee for the first 6 months while you build your patient base
  • Practice's projection: full books achievable within approximately 3 months given existing patient demand
  • Year-one earnings projected in the region of AUD $450,000 at established pace (subject to billings model assumptions — to be confirmed)
  • 12-minute consultations as standard, with flexibility to extend for chronic disease and complex care
  • Full-time or part-time considered

Billing model

Fully bulk billing under the federal Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Programme (BBPIP), with all eligible Medicare services bulk billed from November 2025.

Visa & AHPRA support

Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration (Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway depending on your credentials) and 482 visa sponsorship, with a clear pathway to permanent residency. As a WAGPET-accredited training practice, the clinic has supervision infrastructure in place. Our team will handle the heavy lifting on AHPRA paperwork, timelines, and ECFMG/EPIC verification where needed.

Who we're looking for

  • UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
  • Strong interest in chronic disease management, care planning, and long-term continuity of care — the patient base genuinely rewards this approach
  • Comfortable with a 12-minute consultation pace and a high-volume bulk billing rhythm
  • Suited to both fellowed GPs and those needing ESP supervision (WAGPET training accreditation)
  • Comfortable joining a family-owned, independently-run practice rather than a corporate group
  • Open to relocating to Perth and embracing the WA lifestyle

Next steps

Send your CV to aus@bdiresourcing.com or get in touch to schedule a call with our team — we'll talk through the role, the AHPRA pathway, visa options, and what life actually looks like once you're here.

Even if you're still a year or two away from relocating, it's worth an early conversation — the AHPRA and visa process takes time to do properly.
