Fee-for-Service · 75/25 Split (FHG) | Downtown London | Ontario, Canada
Summary
“A brand-new, government-backed clinic opens in downtown London this autumn with a fully funded support team and a waiting list already overflowing — roster 1,800–2,000 of your own patients fast, on one of Ontario's best splits, with a genuine research angle on the side.”
Salary & Employment Terms
- Payment model: Fee-for-service under a Family Health Group (FHG) model, on a 75/25 split (you keep 75%) — matching the best splits in London and across Ontario
- Roster potential: ~1,800–2,000 patients per physician, accelerated by a government-funded support team
- Location: Canada, Ontario (London)
- Type: Permanent — independent contractor; three physicians recruited, staggered as licensing allows
Estimated Earnings
Your income scales directly with your roster. On the 75/25 split you keep 75% of billings, and a full roster of 1,800–2,000 patients is the main driver — with the government-funded team (nurse practitioner, two physician assistants, medical office administrator and psychotherapist) designed to help you roster, and bill, faster than you could alone.
Because demand is so high, roster build-up is expected to be quick, bringing you toward full earning potential sooner than a typical new practice. We'll share an individual earnings projection with you on a call, based on your roster ramp and case mix.
Location & Registration Status
City / Region: London, Ontario — a city of around 550,000, about two hours west of Toronto, with significantly cheaper housing than Toronto and attractive family suburbs roughly 10 minutes from the clinic. Two Great Lakes are within an hour.
Community classification: Urban. The clinic sits in the most under-served part of downtown London, with enormous unmet demand for family doctors. Eligible UK-trained GPs qualify via the streamlined CPSO route, so the role carries no Return-of-Service obligation.
Registration pathway: College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), via the streamlined route for eligible UK-trained family physicians. BDI manages the licensing process with you.
Billing number: OHIP billing number available on licensure.
About the Practice Group
Our client is an established London clinical research organisation opening a brand-new medical clinic downtown, backed by government funding for a full supporting team. Because the parent is a contract research organisation, research is core to the group — so there's a genuine, optional research opportunity for interested physicians alongside clinical practice. (Organisation name shared with shortlisted candidates.)
About the Clinic
Established: Brand-new clinic, opening October 2026
Funded support team: 5 government-funded FTEs — a nurse practitioner, two physician assistants, a medical office administrator and a psychotherapist — so you can roster more and focus on medicine
Patient-attachment commitment: The clinic is committed to attaching at least 4,500 patients to primary care by May 2027
Your space: 2 exam rooms per physician (6 clinic rooms total), plus a clinical-assistant room where the NP/PAs handle vaccinations and similar — all still billable to you
Patients & scope
- A broad case mix, with first-come, first-served rostering drawing patients from across London — anyone unable to find a family doctor
- Walk-ins locally are full and turning people away, so a sharp early influx of patients is expected
- Optional involvement in the group's clinical research
“Enormous unmet demand — a brand-new clinic, a funded team, and patients waiting from day one.”
Package & Earnings
- Payment model: Fee-for-service under a Family Health Group (FHG), 75/25 in your favour
- Support team: Government-funded nurse practitioner, two physician assistants, medical office administrator and psychotherapist — the admin and much of the routine work is handled for you
- Signing / relocation incentive: [To confirm] — the clinic is open to a signing bonus and/or an initial hourly income guarantee while your roster builds, and will discuss what individual candidates need
- Contract: Independent contractor; three roles staggered as licensing allows
- Growth: Plans to grow to a second site and evolve toward an FHO model in time
Registration & Relocation Support
BDI offers genuine wraparound support — from your source country to your new one. We guide you through CPSO registration and licensing and coordinate every part of the move: the paperwork, flights, accommodation, schools and bank accounts, so you and your family have one point of contact from the first conversation to settling into life in Canada.
We'll talk through eligibility, options and timelines with you on a call, tailored to your circumstances.
Who We're Looking For
- A UK-trained family physician with MRCGP and CCT, or an equivalent internationally-trained GP eligible for CPSO registration — via the streamlined route (we only put forward candidates who qualify without the full PRA/supervision route)
- Keen to build and own a roster quickly in a high-demand, under-served area
- Open to a genuine research angle alongside clinical practice (optional)
- Relocation-ready — the move often suits younger physicians without deep UK roots, though families are well catered for by London's suburbs
