GP - Mixed Billing | DPA | MM1 | Blue Mountains NSW
- AUD $250,000 – $500,000 per year
- Australia, New South Wales
- Permanent
A well-established mixed-billing practice in the heart of the Blue Mountains is looking to welcome a UK-trained GP to the team. This is a genuine lifestyle role — 90 minutes from central Sydney by train, surrounded by national park, with a supportive clinical environment and a patient base that rewards continuity of care.
Location & registration status
- Suburb: NSW (Blue Mountains region)
- DPA status: DPA-approved (Medicare provider number available from day one)
- MMM classification: MM1
This is a small township set along the main road through the Blue Mountains, with its own train station giving direct connectivity to Sydney. The area blends village character with excellent outdoor access — hiking trails, national park, and rural farmland on your doorstep — and enjoys a varied climate that can include snow in winter and warm, dry summers. Property is meaningfully more affordable than Sydney, and many GPs in the region choose to live in Western Sydney and commute, with the new Western Sydney Airport opening in October further improving access to the area.
About the practice
The practice has a strong focus on women's health and chronic disease management, and is particularly keen to grow capacity in these areas. The patient demographic is mixed, with a large aged population, and the expected workload sits around 4 patients per hour — giving you room to practise medicine properly rather than churn through a waiting room.
Package & earnings
- 70/30 billing split in your favour
- Average daily billings of around AUD $3,000 (76% Bulk / 24% Private)
- Hourly guarantee available for up to 8 weeks while you settle in
- Full-time or part-time considered
Billing model
Mixed billing — predominantly bulk billed with a private fee component for appropriate services.
Visa & AHPRA support
Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration (Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway depending on your credentials) and visa sponsorship — typically the Skills in Demand visa, with a clear PR pathway. Our team has guided many UK GPs through this exact transition and will handle the heavy lifting on paperwork, timelines, and ECFMG/EPIC verification where needed.
Who we're looking for
- UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
- Interest in women's health and chronic disease management
- Open to regional / semi-rural Australian living and community-focused care
Next steps
Send your CV to aus@bdiresourcing.com or get in touch to schedule a call with our team — we'll talk through the role, the AHPRA pathway, visa options, and what life actually looks like once you're here.
Even if you're still a year or two away from relocating, it's worth an early conversation — the AHPRA and visa process takes time to do properly.
