GP - Mixed Billing | DPA | MM1 | Brisbane Region QLD

GP-58
  • AUD $250,000 – $500,000 per year
  • Australia, Queensland
  • Permanent

An established Northern Brisbane practice within a 21-clinic Queensland network has a genuine clinical gap: strong patient demand for women's health services and infrastructure ready to support from day one. For UK GPs with women's health interest — or willingness to develop it via a short course on arrival — this role offers something more clinically substantial than most metro suburban options, backed by one of the stronger income guarantees currently available in the Australian GP market.

Location & registration status

  • Suburb: Brisbane Region QLD
  • DPA status: DPA-approved (Medicare provider number available from day one)
  • MMM classification: MM1

This suburb sits around 45 minutes north of central Brisbane, with direct rail and motorway access into the city. The area is a genuine growth corridor of South East Queensland — a settled community with strong local amenities, popular with families for its affordability, good schools, and easy access to both Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Bribie Island and the Sunshine Coast beaches are 30 minutes to the east; Brisbane's CBD and international airport are within an hour to the south. Housing is dramatically more affordable than Brisbane itself, and the lifestyle balances suburban convenience with genuine coastal proximity.

About the practice

The clinic is part of a 21-clinic independent medical centre network operating across South East Queensland — offering the operational infrastructure of a substantial group (HR, technology, payroll, marketing, professional support) alongside the clinical autonomy of an independent practice. The group's philosophy is built around integrated primary care with allied health services, and the network has recently opened its own dedicated teaching general practice facility elsewhere in Queensland — a marker of clinical credibility beyond a straightforward clinic operator.

The Caboolture site currently operates with three GPs on the team, and there's strong patient demand for women's health services that the current clinical mix isn't fully meeting. That's the primary driver of the current recruitment — an incoming GP with women's health interest walks into a ready-made patient stream rather than building from scratch. The practice is comfortable supporting a new GP through a short Implanon and IUD course on arrival if additional procedural training would help.

Billing is mixed — bulk billing for concession card holders and patients under 16, with private fees for other adult consultations. This model supports stronger per-consult earnings than a fully bulk-billing comparator while remaining accessible for lower-income patients.

Package & earnings

  • 70/30 billing split in your favour (30% service fee)
  • AUD $200 per hour income guarantee for the first 3 months while you build your patient base — one of the stronger guarantees currently on offer in the Australian GP market
  • 2-year contract
  • Full-time or part-time considered — part-time genuinely available (all current GPs at the site work part-time)
  • A note on relocation: the practice does not currently offer a formal relocation allowance. The strong hourly guarantee is structured to provide meaningful financial protection during the settling-in period instead.

Billing model

Mixed billing — private fees for adult consultations, with bulk billing for concession card holders and patients under 16.

Visa & AHPRA support

Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration (Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway depending on your credentials) and 482 Skills in Demand visa sponsorship, with a clear pathway to permanent residency. The network has direct experience supporting internationally-trained doctors across its 21-clinic operation, so the operational infrastructure for the transition is embedded rather than starting from scratch. Our team will handle the heavy lifting on AHPRA paperwork, visa timelines, and ECFMG/EPIC verification where needed.

Who we're looking for

  • UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
  • Suited to both fellowed GPs and ESP candidates
  • Interest in women's health particularly welcomed — this is the primary driver of the current recruitment, with a ready-made patient stream and support for Implanon / IUD training on arrival
  • Comfortable with mixed billing and continuity-focused family medicine
  • Part-time candidates welcomed — the site is genuinely structured around flexible working
  • Open to relocating to South East Queensland and embracing Brisbane region lifestyle

Next steps

Send your CV to aus@bdiresourcing.com or get in touch to schedule a call with our team — we'll talk through the role, the AHPRA pathway, visa options, and what life actually looks like once you're here.

Even if you're still a year or two away from relocating, it's worth an early conversation — the AHPRA and visa process takes time to do properly.
