An established bulk-billing practice in the Wollongong region is looking to welcome a UK-trained GP on a three-year contract, with a genuinely strong financial package including a guaranteed hourly rate for the first three months and a multi-year relocation allowance. The practice already has British-trained GPs on the team, offering a soft landing for another UK doctor making the move.

The location sits just south of central Wollongong on the NSW Illawarra coast, around 80km south of Sydney. The area offers one of Australia's better-kept coastal lifestyle secrets — beaches on your doorstep, the Illawarra escarpment behind you, and Sydney accessible by train for city weekends. Property prices are meaningfully lower than Sydney while still being close enough to enjoy the city. Wollongong itself has a strong university presence, good schools, and the full set of regional-city amenities, without the cost or congestion of the capitals.

About the practice

The practice is locally owned and run by GPs, with a strong focus on long-term doctor-patient relationships and continuity of care. The team operates across two sites and includes GPs with a range of backgrounds — including British-trained doctors — plus a multilingual clinical team (English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bahasa). Clinical scope is broad: women's health, skin cancer medicine, asthma, diabetes, minor surgery, industrial health, travel medicine, reproductive and children's health. The clinic is supported by on-site allied health (psychology, dietetics, physiotherapy, exercise physiology) and is AGPAL accredited.

The practice transitioned to a 100% bulk billing model in late 2025 and continues to see high patient demand across both sites.

Package & earnings

• 70/30 billing split in your favour
• Guaranteed hourly rate of AUD $150/hr for the first 3 months (based on 7.5 hours per day) while you build your patient base
• Relocation allowance of AUD $10,000 per year for 3 years — AUD $30,000 in total across the contract
• 3-year contract
• Full-time or part-time considered

Visa & AHPRA support

Full end-to-end support through AHPRA registration (Specialist or Expedited Specialist Pathway depending on your credentials) and visa sponsorship — typically the 482 or Skills in Demand visa, with a clear PR pathway. The practice already has experience supporting UK GPs through this exact transition. Our team will handle the heavy lifting on paperwork, timelines, and ECFMG/EPIC verification where needed.

• UK-trained GP with MRCGP (or working toward CCT — we can advise on timing)
• Interest in broad-scope general practice — women's health, skin, chronic disease, children's health
• Comfortable committing to a 3-year contract in exchange for the enhanced relocation support
