Duration – 12 months Fixed Term Contract with potential for extension

Introduce the job:
 We are excited to invite applications for a ST3+ equivalent doctors to join the Emergency Departments at a leading University trust in the Midlands. This role is ideal for doctors seeking middle-grade opportunities with structured educational support to progress within Emergency Medicine, including support toward RCEM competencies and FRCEM exams.

Main Duties:
 • This is a rotational role in a District General Hospital within the wider trust where you’ll provide care to a broad spectrum of emergency patients.
 • You’ll work across the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), treating a wide variety of adult and paediatric emergencies.
 • You'll join a multi-disciplinary team that includes consultants, junior doctors, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Emergency Nurse Practitioners, and nursing staff.
 • Participation in the on-call rota is required, including nights and weekends.
 • You’ll have protected time and support for non-clinical activities including audit, teaching, research, and leadership development.

 This is a major university NHS Foundation Trust, providing services across multiple sites. The Trust hosts a broad range of specialties and is known for its commitment to clinical excellence, education, and research.

 Birmingham is the UK’s second-largest city and a vibrant, multicultural hub. With excellent transport links including Birmingham International Airport and major rail routes, it’s within easy reach of London, Manchester, and other key cities. The cost of living is significantly lower than in London, and the city is highly family-friendly with outstanding schools, numerous parks, shopping centres, and cultural venues.

Requirements:
 To apply for this position, you will need the following:
 • Full GMC registration
 • A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, including 12 months in Emergency Medicine
 • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to manage the full range of emergency presentations
 • MRCEM or FRCEM (Intermediate) desirable
