Individuals are encouraged to get involved in audits and quality improvement projects. Doctors are encouraged to get involved in formal and informal training of undergraduate students, postgraduate trainees, nurses, and AHPs, in a variety of settings, e.g. ad hoc, bedside, formal lectures and tutorials.

The hospital is located in the north east of England. The location provides the best of both worlds: it is good sized town with beautiful English countryside on your doorstep while also being located close to one of the largest major cities in the north of England.
