The department are accepting applications to join their growing team of specialty doctors in Emergency Medicine in the West Midlands. The hospital offers doctors the opportunity to work in a department where the breadth of clinical exposure is very high. This is an ideal position for a doctor seeking to pursue CESR accreditation with great opportunities for beneficial rotations, whilst working as part of a high-functioning, professional team. The rota at this hospital is particularly flexible, as they can support doctors onto a self-roster system, providing that necessary flexibility for families.

The Job

The typical Rota consists of 10 PAs, including 1 SPA with the opportunity to progress to 2 SPA after induction. 28 days per annum of leave (33 on completion of NHS service). Daily responsibilities include:

  • The post holder will be working on the middle grade Rota and be expected to perform clinical duties to this level, while supporting the trainees and junior doctors in the department.
  • Supporting and teaching both junior medical staff and nursing staff.
  • To support the various departments within the hospital and liase with the other teams to ensure high levels of patient care.

Being situated in between 2 major cities, you are able to explore the city life with ease, while having the countryside on your doorstep. The hospital is situated in a smaller city, giving people the easy access to local shops and restaurants, but without the rush of being in a metropolis like London. 

The Trust

This trust has a fantastic reputation of fully supporting doctors undertaking CESR accreditation, with any required rotational specialty to be facilitated.

The hospital serves a population greater than 600,000 providing acute care for the local area as well as surrounding towns, with Minor Injuries units in the local areas referring patients to the acute trust. The trust is also hosting the major trauma unit for the region, and therefore is the key point of call for various patients requiring specialist level of care.

  • GMC registration
