The Emergency Medicine department at this Trust are looking for 4 Doctors to join the department as a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3 level). This is a great opportunity for A&E Doctors that are looking to progress their career in Emergency Medicine by working in a Senior role at reputable hospital in South West London. Within this role there will be opportunities to develop specialist interests in the after 12 months. Personal development is also emphasized at this Trust with teaching opportunities, training sessions, audit and research opportunities available to all staff. The post will offer Emergency Medicine experience and an opportunity for the Doctor to improve their skills in dealing with acutely unwell children and adults.

Duties and Responsibilities

A job plan will be provided before joining the department and this will be reviewed annually. The duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist in delivering quality patient care
  • Support the management of the Emergency Department shop floor
  • Communicate with other departments both Clinical and Managerial
  • Supervise junior staff
  • Active involvement in teaching
  • Non-clinical time for personal professional development
  • To comply with the Trust’s Safe Guarding Children and Vulnerable Adults policies, procedures and protocols.

The Hospital and the Emergency department

The A&E department this Trust is a busy hospital in South West London with over 500 beds, over 105,000 patients are attending the department every year. The ED has had significant investment over the past few years in order to improve the quality of patient care. There is a 7-bedded resus area; a designated area for paediatrics; majors area with 23 cubicles as well as several other areas that have been designed to enhance the services provided at the Trust.

Location

The hospital is based in South West London area where it has easy transport links to access the capital via the train, tram, or motorway systems. The location boasts a large number of schools that are rated as “Outstanding” by the Office for Standard in Education (OFSTED). With a large multicultural population and mixture of shops you will have everything you will need to comfortably settle down.

Requirements

  • MRCEM
  • 12 months experience in Emergency Medicine
