You will join one of the most supportive teams in the NHS! This Acute Medicine department are looking for friendly, driven, motivated doctors to be a part of their team. Working at a senior clinical fellow level is a great opportunity to begin your career in the NHS, and continue to develop professionally.  

Main Duties: 

  • Provide high quality care for acutely ill patients.
  • Support emergency services, liaise with other departments and developing teams fast track services
  • Provide rapid assessment of acute medical patients
  • Work as a senior decision maker within the same day emergency care unit.
  • Guide and support junior doctors, nurses, and medical staffing.
  • Take part in clinical audit and research.
  • take part in multidisciplinary team meetings, liaising with specialists in a wide range of services.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, as required, covering medical emergencies.
  • To be able to perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, ascitic drain and chest drains.
  • To maintain the trust values of kindness, wellness and fairness at all times

The Hospital and Department:

This hospital is a medium sized district general hospital based in the East Midlands. Although it is not a huge university hospital, it has all the facilities and amendments.

You will join a friendly multicultural team making it feel like coming to work every day is like being at home! The acute medicine department serves the front line for emergency care within the hospital. You will be trained to respond promptly assessed and triaged to determine the urgency of the care of the patient.

The location:

The town this Trust is based in is located in the East Midlands. It is very well connected to larger cities, such as Sheffield, Manchester, and Leeds, making it very accessible to visit on the weekends. 

The education near by is excellent with many Outstanding rated schools - which is perfect for families who are coming with children. 

The cost of living in the Midlands is also much lower than other parts of the country. The town is situated amongst the beautiful and green hills of England, making it a great place to live for those who value natural beauty and a peaceful way of life. In the town itself, you will find a wide range of shops, markets, and galleries. 

The closest international airport is about an hour away, making it convenient to visit friends and family overseas.

Requirements:

To apply for this position, you will need the following:

  • Full MRCP or equivalent
  • GMC registration
  • Wide range of experience in general or acute medicine.
