This Trust is looking for an Acute Registrar to join their exceptional team. As an Acute Medicine Registrar, you will have the opportunity to work across three distinct areas: the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). Your role will be integral in delivering high-quality care to patients presenting with acute medical issues. The Acute Assessment Unit focuses on assessing and triaging patients throughout the hospital, thus enhancing patient flow. Same Day Emergency Care caters to acutely unwell patients who can be managed without requiring an overnight bed, while the Acute Medical Unit admits patients in need of immediate hospitalization for acute conditions.

Main Duties: 

  • Diagnose and manage patients presenting acute medical issues who come into the hospital.
  • Contribute to the Acute Medicine team as well as the wider Medicine Registrar rota, as required.
  • Take part in multi-disciplinary team meetings when required.
  • Participate in the teaching and training of more junior clinical colleagues within the department.
  • The department will require you keep your own clinical skills up to date through regular CPD. You will also be expected to make use of allocated study leave provided as part of the job plan.

The hospital is based in London and has around 500 beds. The team are incredibly supportive of international doctors, so you’ll be well-looked after here. You will have the opportunity to participate in quality improvement, audit and research projects within your team. Further, you will have access to teaching activities such as Journal Clubs, Grand Rounds etc., and the large on-site library. The hospital offers a range of development opportunities for medical professionals including a tailored educational plan. It also has a good track record of helping doctors get their CCT through CESR and would be willing to offer the same dedicated support for the successful applicant.

Requirements:

  • Full MRCP (or equivalent)
  • Previous/current Registrar-level experience overseas or in the UK.
