As a General Medicine Consultant, your role entails providing high-quality care and leading a dynamic team. In General Medicine, you'll be pivotal in the hospital system, attending to diverse medical sub-specialties and treating a variety of unwell patients. This position is perfect for doctors with extensive experience in General Internal Medicine, who are capable of working independently.

Main Duties: 

  • Lead daily ward rounds, with a team of junior doctors.
  • Work alongside specialists of different specialisms, including Respiratory, Care of the Elderly, Endocrinology & Diabetes, amongst others.
  • Participate in the consultant on-call rota, as required.
  • You will be working alongside other Consultants, Senior Clinical Fellows, Junior doctors, and specialists nurses, to deliver high-quality care to a wide range of inpatients and outpatients.
  • You will also be responsible for the supervision and education of your junior team, as well as other members of the medicine department, such as nurses, and AHPs.
  • Conduct audits and quality improvement projects to ensure a high standard of care in the department.
