This Trust in the East Midlands is seeking a Respiratory Medicine Consultant to join their friendly team. This presents an exciting opportunity within a growing department that promotes ongoing professional growth and the enhancement of respiratory procedure skills. It's an excellent choice for an experienced Respiratory Medicine Consultant or an individual at the Specialty Doctor/Specialist level seeking advancement. The appointed individual, alongside other fellow Consultants, will be tasked with providing top-notch care to patients in need of respiratory treatment.

Main Duties: 

  • Take part in respiratory outpatient clinics, including sub-specialist clinics in COPD, TB, Lung Cancer, and Interstitial Lung Disease, among others.
  • Be an educational supervisor and teacher for your team of junior doctors and nurses.
  • Collaborate with various specialties within the Trust and engaging in regional Respiratory Medicine MDTs with other Trusts.
  • Actively contribute to service quality enhancement to uphold excellent patient care standards.
  • Participate in the Consultant on-call rota, as required.

The Hospital:

The main site that this position is based at has around 600 inpatient beds. With this opportunity, you will have bronchoscopy sessions at both sites of the Trust, and would be able to perform Endobronchial ultrasound, thoracoscopy, and support the team with their pulmonary rehabilitation services. You will be joining a team of consultants and junior doctors, as well as specialists nurse and AHPs, to provide high quality care for your patients. The department also often liaises with the specialist Chest Radiologists and have weekly support from the nearby oncology centres. The department is very welcoming to IMGs and can provide dedicated CESR support for doctors who are looking to become permanent consultants in the UK.

The hospital is based in a town in the east Midlands. You’ll be living close to a vibrant city with lots of opportunities for work and entertainment. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful parks and green spaces, perfect for relaxing or enjoying outdoor activities. Requirements:

To apply for this position, you will need the following:

  • Full MRCP (or equivalent)
  • GMC Registration.
  • Wide range of experience in General Medicine.
  • Experience with Respiratory cases and patients.
