About the Role

Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist seeking a meaningful leadership role within a comprehensive mental health service? NSW Health invites experienced psychiatrists and advanced trainees nearing fellowship to contribute to high-quality public mental health care across NSW. 

As a Staff Specialist in Psychiatry, you’ll:

  • Provide expert psychiatric care across inpatient, community and recovery services for diverse patient groups. 

  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including medical, nursing, allied health and support staff. 

  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and trainees.

  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement and professional education. 

  • Engage with a service committed to compassionate, person-centred care.

Selection Criteria

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent. 

  • Specialist registration or eligibility with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Demonstrated experience in psychiatric practice across relevant clinical settings. 

  • Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills. 

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience or interest in sub-specialty areas such as child & adolescent psychiatry, neuropsychiatry or consultation-liaison psychiatry (vacancies may vary). 

  • Commitment to professional development, teaching and research.
