Introduce the job
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join a leading Health District two hours from Sydney. This role provides the chance to deliver high-quality specialist medical services in both inpatient and outpatient settings while also supporting the education and training of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Main Duties:
• Provide clinical services across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care within the Maternity Unit, as well as elective and emergency gynaecology cases.
• Manage a wide range of patients including high- and low-risk pregnancies, emergency obstetric presentations, and gynaecological conditions.
• Work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team including junior doctors, midwives, anaesthetists, paediatricians, and allied health professionals.
• Contribute to an equitable on-call rota for Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
• Undertake scheduled gynaecological surgical lists and outpatient clinics.
• Opportunities are available for non-clinical contributions such as teaching, clinical governance, audits, research, and quality improvement.

Requirements:
To apply for this position, you will need the following:
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent.
• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, or via the International Medical Graduate pathway.
• Demonstrated ability to provide safe, high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care.
• Experience working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to teaching, research, quality improvement, and continuing education.
• Availability to participate in the on-call roster.
