Introduce the job
 We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nephrologist with strong General Medicine experience to join a leading health district in Western New South Wales. This role offers the opportunity to provide contemporary, expert specialist medical services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, while also contributing to the supervision, education, and development of junior doctors and allied health professionals.

Main Duties:
 • You will provide services across the Renal Dialysis Unit, General Medical wards, and outpatient clinics.
 • Patients will include those with acute and chronic kidney disease, dialysis patients, and a broad range of general medical cases.
 • You will work alongside an experienced team of physicians, junior medical officers, nursing staff, and allied health colleagues in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
 • Participation in an equitable on-call roster for General Medicine is required.
 • Dedicated time for non-clinical work is supported, including opportunities for clinical governance, audits, teaching, supervision, quality improvement, and research initiatives.

The Hospital:
 The Hospital is a major regional referral centre within the Western NSW region. It provides a wide range of services including General Medicine, Surgery, Renal Medicine, Intensive Care, Emergency, Paediatrics, Maternity, and Mental Health. The hospital has modern facilities, including a Renal Dialysis Unit, and is closely connected with other hospitals within the LHD, offering a strong network of medical specialties and training support.

The Location:
 This is a vibrant regional city in New South Wales with a population of around 37,000. Known as Australia’s oldest inland settlement, it offers a welcoming community with a mix of historic charm and modern amenities. An affordable cost of living compared to metropolitan centres and boasts excellent transport links, including regular rail and road access to Sydney (approx. 2.5 hours). Requirements:
 To apply for this position, you will need the following:
 • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
 • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, or via the International Medical Graduate pathway.
 • Demonstrated skills in both Nephrology and General Medicine.
 • Commitment to teaching, supervision, quality improvement, and continuing education.
 • Ability to participate in the on-call roster.
