About the Jobs
Paediatrics & Neonatology services here balance acute presentations with ongoing outpatient and community interfaces. Hospitals typically run dedicated paediatric assessment areas, children’s wards and neonatal units linked into regional networks.
- Acute paediatrics - front‑door assessment and management of common childhood conditions (respiratory illness, seizures, sepsis, dehydration).
- Neonatal care - special care and high‑dependency support for premature and unwell neonates, with referral links to regional NICU centres.
- Clinics - exposure to respiratory, neurology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, allergy and safeguarding pathways.
- On‑call - participation in paediatric and neonatal resuscitation, stabilisation and safe transfer when required.
- Teaching - strong emphasis on simulation, bedside teaching and multidisciplinary learning.
The mix of acute and follow‑up work offers excellent variety and the chance to develop focused interests within child health.
