  • Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - Acute services across Doncaster, Bassetlaw and Mexborough.
  • Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - District general acute services serving Barnsley and surrounds.

Together these Trusts create a diverse clinical landscape with excellent opportunities for training, sub-specialisation and progression across medicine, surgery, emergency and diagnostic services.

About the Jobs

Emergency Medicine teams across the region run busy Emergency Departments with established links to trauma, intensive care and acute specialties. Doctors develop rapid assessment and decision‑making skills across undifferentiated presentations.

  • Front‑door care - triage, assess and manage patients with medical, surgical and trauma presentations across all acuity levels.
  • Resuscitation - active roles in cardiac arrest, major trauma and sepsis pathways within regional trauma networks.
  • Specialist exposure - opportunities in paediatric ED, minor injuries/procedures, toxicology and pre‑hospital interfaces.
  • Flow & safety - close collaboration with acute medicine, surgery and ICU to maintain safe patient flow.
  • Education - simulation, governance and QI built into departmental practice.

EM offers high‑tempo, varied clinical work and a strong platform for developing advanced acute care skills.
