About the Jobs

Acute & General Medicine services in this region mirror the breadth of NHS medical care, combining rapid front‑door assessment with ongoing inpatient management. Teams run busy acute medical units and medical wards, giving doctors exposure to undifferentiated admissions and complex multi‑morbid patients.

  • Acute take - initial assessment and stabilisation of new medical admissions from ED, GP and specialty referrals.
  • Ward care - continuity of care for a wide mix of conditions including respiratory, cardiac, renal, endocrine and frailty presentations.
  • Hot clinics - ambulatory assessment and same‑day emergency care pathways to improve patient flow.
  • Subspecialty links - opportunities to develop interests alongside cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, renal and infectious diseases.
  • Quality & training - active involvement in governance, QI, and teaching within supportive, well‑structured rotas.

This breadth provides a strong platform for doctors building experience towards training progression or long‑term specialist practice.
