  • Salary: £52,530 – £82,400

The Trust’s Urology Service

This is a department where you can immerse yourself in a dynamic team comprising 3 seasoned Urology Consultants, backed by 2 Associate Specialists who will guide and take the lead with you and your more junior colleagues. The special interests of the Consultants leading the service span Oncology, Stones, Andrology, Female, Functional, and Neuro-urology, making it a cutting-edge place to be.

There are major pelvic oncological surgeries taking place at the renowned regional cancer center and renal surgeries performed at their other top-tier facility. Spanning across 2 sites, you  will be required to be moving between two sites, which should be seen as an opportunity to develop your personal skills in different environments, rather than a hinderance.

The department has a 1:5 non-residential middle-grade on-call rota, where you'll be at the forefront of emergency care. Proficiency in flexible cystoscopy and minor surgery is a must, as you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care.

Location

This area is nestled along the stunning coastline of England, offering a blend of rich history, natural beauty, and vibrant community life. There are sandy beaches nearby, and picturesque promenades. There is an abundance of parks and gardens (a 20-acre botanic garden, for example). You can be sure it’s a safe area, with a lower crime rate than many other towns of its size. It also boasts a good education system at both the primary and secondary level.

If you’re looking for somewhere to settle with a family its ideal. You’re within 20 miles and 40 miles of Liverpool and Manchester respectively, so even if you’re single and want to be sociable and enjoy cultural activities at the weekend, the area will also suit you.
