About the Jobs
Anaesthetics & Intensive Care services in this region span high‑volume theatres and modern critical care units. Doctors gain experience across elective and emergency lists, peri‑operative medicine and the management of critically ill patients.
- Theatres - anaesthesia for general surgery, trauma & orthopaedics, ENT, obstetrics & gynaecology, urology and vascular cases, with scope to develop regional anaesthesia and peri‑operative medicine.
- Critical care - mixed medical‑surgical ICU exposure (sepsis, ARDS, cardiac and neuro emergencies, multi‑organ support) with links to regional trauma/ECMO networks.
- Subspecialties - opportunities across cardiac, thoracic, neuro and paediatric anaesthesia, pain medicine and advanced intensive care.
- Emergency response - integral roles on cardiac arrest and trauma teams, supporting rapid airway and resuscitation care hospital‑wide.
- Education & QI - simulation, audit and service development within collaborative MDTs.
The case‑mix and team structure provide a strong foundation for consolidating experience or developing subspecialty pathways.
