Salary Range – £61,542 - £99,216 per annum (based on Specialty Doctor pay scale)
Location – North London
Duration – Permanent, Full-Time (10 PAs)


 BDI Resourcing are seeking a Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry to join a specialist Community Rehabilitation Team within a progressive NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers the chance to provide patient-centred care for adults with severe mental illness in a dynamic and supportive community setting.

Main Duties

  • Setting: Entirely community-based, including home visits and assessments in supported accommodation. There are no inpatient ward duties.
  • Patients: Adults with enduring and complex mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or psychotic disorders, many under community treatment orders.
  • Team: Multidisciplinary colleagues including consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, CPNs, OTs, social workers, and support staff.
  • On-Call Rota: None – this role has no on-call or Section 12 responsibilities.
  • Non-Clinical Time: Dedicated SPA time for CPD, teaching, audits, quality improvement, and the opportunity to contribute to research and CESR development.

This role is based within one of London’s largest mental health trusts, which operates across multiple boroughs and provides a full spectrum of services including adult, older people’s, forensic, CAMHS, and specialist care. The Trust is known for its academic affiliations, innovative service models, and commitment to professional development, including CESR support.

The service is situated in a well-connected, multicultural borough in North London. The area offers:

Requirements

To apply for this position, you will need:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • At least 4 years post-graduate experience, including 2 years in psychiatry or equivalent
  • Experience with severe and enduring mental illness in a community setting
  • Section 12(2) approval is desirable but not essential
  • MRCPsych or equivalent is desirable
