We are working on behalf of a large, well-regarded NHS provider to recruit an experienced Band 7 Sonographer to join their Imaging department. The Role
- Independently perform and report on a wide range of ultrasound scans.
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and maintain high diagnostic standards.
- Supervise, train, and mentor students and junior staff.
- Contribute to service development, protocol implementation, audits, and research activities.
- Collaborate with Radiologists, referrers, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant field and postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound.
- HCPC, NMC, or RCT registration (or eligibility).
- Demonstrated experience in a variety of ultrasound techniques (e.g., obstetric, abdominal, MSK).
- Strong reporting skills and ability to work independently.
- Experience or willingness to contribute to teaching and professional development.
Desirable:
- Involvement in service development or audit projects.
- Familiarity with RIS, PACS, and other imaging software.
This role requires a dedicated and resilient sonographer with excellent communication skills, able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes emotionally challenging environment.

- This role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- UK professional registration is required
