BDI Resourcing is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) in a regional setting. This position is ideal for doctors seeking broad clinical exposure, accelerated skill development, and a fulfilling lifestyle outside the city.

Main Duties:

In this full-time role, you will:

  • Deliver safe, first-line medical care for patients, including assessment, treatment, and referral
  • Work collaboratively across departments under consultant supervision
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and discharge planning
  • Support junior medical staff and contribute to a safe and inclusive workplace

What Wards Will You Work In?

Structured rotations will give you exposure to a variety of departments, including:

  • Emergency Medicine
  • General Medicine
  • Surgery
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • Paediatrics
  • ICU and more

These rotations support training goals for general registration and future fellowship with RACGP, ACRRM, and other colleges.

What Kind of Patients Will You See?

You’ll encounter a diverse caseload including acute emergencies, chronic disease management, paediatrics, maternity care, and complex multimorbidity. You’ll also gain valuable experience working with underrepresented and rural populations.

What Other Colleagues Are in the Team?

You’ll work alongside:

  • RMOs, CMOs, GP Registrars, and other junior doctors
  • Specialist consultants
  • A dedicated and experienced nursing and allied health team
     This cohesive and supportive team fosters collaboration, professional growth, and continuous learning.

On-Call Rota:

Includes shift-based and on-call responsibilities in general medical and emergency settings, with senior support and telehealth access to specialist input when required.

Time for Non-Clinical Work:

Dedicated time is provided for:

  • Weekly clinical teaching
  • Simulation-based learning
  • Quality improvement initiatives
  • Research participation
  • Study leave and exam preparation (e.g. ACEM Emergency Medicine Certificate, ALS, EMC)

Requirements:

Applicants must have:

  • MBBS or equivalent, with registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Ability to work independently under supervision
  • Excellent communication and clinical documentation skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • A commitment to quality care, safety, and continuing education
  • Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
