An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics to join a dynamic and supportive department at a busy coastal district general hospital. This post is ideally suited for doctors with at least ST4-level experience who are looking to gain further clinical exposure and development in general paediatrics and neonatology.

Main Duties: 

  • Active participation in general paediatric inpatient and outpatient care
  • Contribution to daily ward rounds, including postnatal, paediatric and neonatal units
  • Participation in the full shift rota, including nights and weekends
  • Involvement in the paediatric assessment unit and emergency admissions
  • Participation in teaching sessions and simulation training for junior staff and medical students
  • Opportunity for involvement in audits, quality improvement, and service development

The Hospital:

This is a busy district general hospital serving a large catchment in Sussex. The paediatric department includes:

  • A 20-bed general paediatric ward
  • A 10-cot level 1 Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU)
  • A Paediatric Assessment Unit
  • Dedicated outpatient clinics and child development services
  • Strong links with tertiary centres in Brighton and London

The Location:

The role is based in a thriving seaside town offering a mix of city access and coastal charm.

Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration with licence to practice
  • NHS experience in paediatrics and neonatology at registrar level (tier 2 rota
  • MRCPCH
  • EPALS/APLS
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
