The Job
A hospital in South Wales is looking for Senior Clinical Fellows to join a dynamic and forward-thinking Emergency Department.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, well-resourced department where you’ll gain hands-on experience managing a wide variety of undifferentiated cases. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of consultants, middle grade doctors, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, ENPs, and allied healthcare professionals. The role involves frontline patient care, supervision of junior colleagues, and opportunities to contribute to teaching and departmental projects.
Whether you're aiming for a career in Emergency Medicine or looking to further develop your skills, this post offers excellent support for your professional development. There’s dedicated non-clinical time available to focus on your areas of interest—be it simulation, teaching, quality improvement, or staff wellbeing initiatives.
This post is ideal for doctors looking to build a strong portfolio for training applications or those keen to broaden their emergency care experience in a collaborative and well-led environment.
The Location
Located in South Wales, just off the M4 corridor, the hospital is in a vibrant area offering a mix of city life, beautiful countryside, and stunning coastline. With excellent transport links to Cardiff, Swansea, and beyond, this location offers a great work-life balance with affordable living, family-friendly communities, and access to a wealth of outdoor activities.
The Hospital
The Emergency Department is part of a larger health board serving a population of around 450,000 across the region. The department is known for its inclusive team culture, commitment to education, and strong track record in supporting career development.
The ED sees approximately 56,000 new patients each year and offers a consultant-led service 7 days a week. The team has a proud history of innovation, with rapid assessment models and continuous quality improvement at the heart of its practice. The department provides a range of learning opportunities, from weekly teaching and multidisciplinary simulations to collaborative projects with other specialties.
