Job Title: Staff Specialist – Haematologist
 Salary Range: $262,376 - $354,479

 Location: Regional New South Wales, Australia

 Duration: Permanent, Full-Time

This is an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Haematologist to join a progressive health service in Regional NSW. You’ll take on a key specialist position within the Department of Medicine, delivering expert care to patients while supporting junior doctors and shaping service development across the region.

Main Duties:

  • Wards: Inpatient general medicine wards, outpatient haematology clinics, and emergency consults as required.
  • Patient Types: A varied caseload including both malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders, alongside general internal medicine cases.
  • Team Structure: Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, junior medical officers, registrars, and emergency department colleagues.
  • On-Call Rota: Participation in the on-call general medicine roster with the expectation of timely on-site response.
  • Non-Clinical Work: Includes teaching junior doctors and trainees, clinical supervision, quality audits, service planning, and participation in mortality and morbidity reviews.

Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have:

  • Full registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent overseas qualifications.
  • Broad experience in both malignant and non-malignant haematology.
  • Proven ability to work within and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong interest in teaching, supervision, and service development.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call roster and hospital activities.
