BDI Resourcing is delighted to present this unique opportunity for a Consultant Physician to join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team at a regional hospital in New South Wales. This position combines general medicine with subspecialty practice in areas such as nephrology and gastroenterology. Main Duties:
• Provide inpatient care across general medicine and subspecialty units, including outreach clinics to nearby satellite sites.
• Treat a diverse caseload including patients requiring nephrology, gastroenterology, and complex chronic disease management.
• Work closely with junior doctors, registrars, and other allied health staff in a team-oriented environment.
• Participate in a general medicine on-call rota and provide senior clinical decision-making support.
• Engage in non-clinical responsibilities such as hospital planning, teaching medical students, supporting audit activity, quality improvement, and contributing to department meetings and initiatives.
• Optional appointment as Head of Department is available, offering strategic oversight and leadership opportunities.

It is a well-equipped facility delivering a range of services including general medicine, intensive care, surgery, emergency care, paediatrics, mental health, and rehabilitation. The department operates within an integrated care model across inpatient and outreach settings, supported by robust infrastructure and clinical governance systems.

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent
• Registration or eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Advanced training or experience in nephrology and/or gastroenterology
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical teaching, supervision, and quality improvement activities
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and support training programs for junior staff
• Willingness to participate in on-call and outreach work
• Compliance with mandatory employment checks including WWCC and health clearance
Note: Final-year Advanced Trainees in nephrology or gastroenterology (with Australian clinical experience) who anticipate fellowship completion by the end of the current clinical year are encouraged to apply.
