Location & Registration Status

City / Region: Ottawa, Ontario — Canada’s capital, in the city’s established west end.

Community classification: Urban centre. This is not a designated rural/under-served community, so provincial rural-incentive schemes do not apply.

Registration pathway: College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Candidates must be CPSO-licensed or eligible for CPSO licensure by the start date; we support internationally-trained family physicians through the appropriate CPSO route.

Billing number: OHIP billing eligibility required; provider number in place on licensure.

Ottawa is a bilingual capital city of roughly a million people, with strong schools, a low crime rate, and housing costs well below Toronto or Vancouver. The clinic sits in a settled residential part of the west end with on-site parking — an easy base for family life.

Our client is an established community family medicine clinic in Ottawa providing comprehensive, longitudinal primary care. The practice is built around continuity — physicians carry their own patient panels with full administrative and clinical support behind them. (Clinic name shared with shortlisted candidates.)

About This Clinic

Established: 2025 (newly established practice)

Team:  5 Family Physicians plus on-site Medical Office Assistant and administrative support

Clinical Scope:

• Patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
• Diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions and injuries
• Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests, including imaging
• Prescribing and counselling on treatment, prevention, and follow-up
• Preventive care, screening, immunisations, and chronic disease management
• Minor office procedures within scope and competence
• Referral coordination and continuity of care with specialists, hospitals, and community services
• EMR documentation and participation in clinic quality-improvement initiatives

Operating Hours: 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Language of work: English.

Practice supports: Medical Office Assistant and admin support, EMR onboarding and clinic workflow support, flexible scheduling, and on-site parking.

Package & Earnings

• Payment model: Blended — capitation per enrolled patient plus fee-for-service and incentives, billed to OHIP (expected gross approx. $230,000–$450,000, varying with panel size, patient volume and scope)
• Overhead split: 75:25
• Signing bonus: None offered
• Contract: Permanent, full-time
• Flexibility: Flexible scheduling; full-time focus

Registration & Immigration Support

Full end-to-end support through CPSO registration, with BDI Resourcing and the clinic guiding you through the appropriate route for your credentials. Canadian experience is not required. For candidates relocating from abroad, the employer supports work permit sponsorship (LMIA-based), with a clear pathway to permanent residence through the category-based Express Entry healthcare draws (family physician, NOC 31102), the Physicians with Canadian Work Experience category once established, or Ontario’s Provincial Nominee physician stream.

Who We’re Looking For

• MD degree or equivalent, licensed with CPSO or eligible for CPSO licensure by the start date
• UK-trained GPs with MRCGP / CCT, or equivalent internationally-trained family physicians, are well suited
• Eligible for CMPA (or equivalent) liability protection and to bill OHIP
• Comfortable with full-scope community family medicine and continuity of care
• Sub-specialist interests are welcomed.
