 BDI Resourcing are delighted to bring you this exciting opportunity for an experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join a busy regional emergency department in New South Wales. This is a full-time permanent role ideal for those with strong leadership skills and a passion for quality care and teaching. You'll be joining a well-established and welcoming department committed to continuous improvement, clinical excellence, and collaborative team dynamics.

Main Duties:
 • You will provide direct clinical care to adult and paediatric patients within the Emergency Department.
 • Presentations range from minor illnesses and injuries to complex acute conditions requiring resuscitation and advanced clinical management.
 • The team includes Junior Medical Officers, Career Medical Officers, and a senior nursing and allied health workforce.
 • The on-call component is required, with participation in a roster to ensure consistent senior decision-making availability.
 • You’ll also be expected to supervise junior medical staff, engage in teaching, contribute to audits and clinical governance programs, and support research and service development initiatives.

The Hospital:
 This is a major regional hospital with over 300 beds, serving as a referral centre for surrounding rural and remote communities. The facility offers a wide range of services including emergency care, general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, mental health, and intensive care. The emergency department is well-resourced and actively involved in training programs for junior doctors and medical students. The hospital operates on a single site, enabling strong integration between inpatient and emergency care services.

With a population of around 40,000, it combines the charm of country living with essential amenities. Requirements:
 To apply for this position, you will need the following:
 • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or an equivalent international qualification
 • Full or eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA (Medical Board of Australia)
 • Strong clinical leadership and communication skills
 • Experience in supervising junior doctors and engaging in clinical education
 • Demonstrated involvement in audits, quality improvement, or research
 • Willingness to participate in an on-call roster
 • Working With Children Check and Aged Care Check clearance
 • Ability to work under pressure and in a multidisciplinary team environment
