Dermatology Consultant - CESR Support
- £121,264
- UK, Wales
- Fixed
We are currently hiring for 2x Dermatology Consultants to join the current team at this excellent NHS Health Board. The requirement is for a general dermatologist replacing a retiree. The retiree took the lead on their patch testing and phototherapy so an interest in either would be welcomed but isn’t essential.
What's on offer
Arguably the highlight of working with this Health Board is the support that they’re looking to invest in the future and build a team by offering CESR or Portfolio Pathway support to aspiring Consultants. They’ve supported a number of previous incumbents through CESR / Portfolio Pathway and have one in process at the moment. The next appointee will have full access to this support if it’s something they would like to pursue. It makes for a great place to work towards Specialist Registration.
The post is 12 months fixed term in the first instance however, for the right candidate (someone with UK experience or close to CESR/CCT) they could push for a 2 year contract length. Either way, the post is replacing a retiree and encouraging CESR support so there’s a clear intention that the successful applicant will have the opportunity to stay with them for the long run.
In terms of location, you’ll find yourself in a great place to live for those seeking affordability and a blend of urban and rural amenities. There’s convenient access to major cities and it's particularly noted as a great location for young families due to its parks, schools, and affordability. It’s also a place of modern development and a growing population of young professionals.
The salary for this post is £121,264 covering a normal 40 hour working week. As with most positions in Dermatology there may be opportunities to bolster your income with additional sessions depending on waiting lists.
Finally, their clinical lead is one of the friendliest people you could meet and that reflects in the department around her – it’s an incredibly warm and welcoming unit.
The Suitable Applicant
This role will ideally suit applicants that:
- Already work as Consultants in the NHS and are looking for an excellent work life balance in a friendly department
- Are working as Consultants overseas (holding GMC registration already) and looking for a first Consultant post in the NHS
- Are currently in a Specialist or Specialty Doctor post in the NHS and looking to step up to a Consultant post
- Fit any of the above criteria and are looking for a place that can help them with CESR / Portfolio Pathway support
A strong background in Dermatology is the key criteria. A UK trainee would be ideal but any international training in a structured program that was focused solely on Dermatology would be welcomed so long as the applicant holds GMC registration and is ready to relocate.
