Shape the Future of Interventional Radiology in Nottingham

We’re working with a leading NHS Trust in the East Midlands to appoint a Consultant Vascular & Interventional Radiologist to join an expanding team of 7 consultants delivering high-quality vascular and non-vascular IR. This is a replacement post to support elective and emergency care, contribute to training and research, and help lead on best practices in a nationally recognised IR service.

You’ll work cross-site across two major hospital campuses, supported by a dynamic radiology team of 46 consultants with state-of-the-art imaging suites. A flexible, collaborative job planning structure ensures work-life balance and professional growth.

Why Consider This Role?

  • Cutting-Edge Facilities – 4 IR suites at QMC (2 bi-plane, 2 single-plane), plus 2 IR suites—modernised with Philips and Siemens systems.
  • Wide Clinical Exposure – Collaborate with vascular surgery, HPB, transplant, neurology, oncology, and trauma teams.
  • Flexible Job Planning – Dedicated SPA time, 1 PA for remote home reporting, and additional paid insourcing work available.
  • Research & Teaching – Active audit and discrepancy meetings, opportunities to teach East Midlands Deanery trainees, and links with the University.
  • Integrated Governance – Participate in MDTs (renal, vascular, oncology), patient safety initiatives, and CPD activities.

Who Should Apply?

  • Consultants on the GMC Specialist Register in Clinical Radiology (or within 6 months of CCT).
  • Candidates with advanced training in vascular and non-vascular intervention, ideally EBIR-certified.
  • Doctors with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, team collaboration, innovation, and medical education.
  • NHS experience is essential.

Benefits & Perks

  • Relocation support (subject to Trust policy)
  • Access to insourcing income & remote reporting
  • Secure Trust-wide IT infrastructure, including PACS & RIS
  • Strong links to academic institutions for those pursuing research
