BDI Resourcing are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist CAMHS team within a forward-thinking NHS Trust in North London. This exciting and varied post is split between two well-established community services: 4 PAs in the Looked After Children’s Team and 6 PAs in the Generic/Neurodevelopmental Service. You will provide psychiatric expertise to children and young people with complex emotional and neurodevelopmental needs, while supporting multidisciplinary colleagues across both settings.
Main Duties
- Wards/Settings: Community-based role across two dedicated CAMHS clinics, with flexibility for seeing patients at either site.
- Patients: Children and young people aged 0–18, including those in foster care, adopted, or with conditions such as ADHD, ASD, mood disorders, and complex emotional presentations.
- Team: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other medical staff.
- On-Call: Low-frequency tri-borough CAMHS on-call rota (1:15), covering local paediatric units and supported by specialist crisis nurses. The rota includes 1 additional PA.
- Non-Clinical Time: 2.5 SPAs available for CPD, research, audit, teaching, supervision, and service development.

You’ll be joining a large NHS Mental Health Trust serving over 1.2 million people, with services spanning general and specialist mental health, community care, forensics, eating disorders, and liaison psychiatry. The Trust works across multiple sites and has strong academic links with University College London, supporting a wide range of research and teaching opportunities.

Requirements
To apply for this position, you will need the following:
• Full MRCPsych or international equivalent
• GMC registration with a licence to practise
• CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or within 6 months of obtaining it)
• Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility within 3 months)
• CAMHS experience including neurodevelopmental disorders and LAC services
• Strong clinical leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
