Consultant in Medical Oncology – Gynaecology & Colorectal Cancers

About the Role:

We are inviting applications from medical oncology Consultants to join a dynamic Gynaecology and Colorectal cancer team in a fantastic NHS Hospital. The successful candidate will become the second consultant in both teams and will have the opportunity to make a real impact on patient care and service development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and treat patients with Gynaecological and Colorectal cancers as part of the site-specific MDTs.
• Provide on-call and acute cover for oncology inpatients and new referrals on a rotational basis (1 week out of 8).
• Attend weekly multi-disciplinary meetings to ensure coordinated care.
• Act as an honorary lecturer and participate in undergraduate teaching.
• Contribute to clinical research as appropriate, supporting the hospital’s commitment to embedding research into everyday practice.
• Train and mentor specialty trainees in medical oncology.

Requirements:

• 6 months of prior NHS experience at Specialist or Consultant grade 
• GMC registration with a license to practice 
• A background in independent practice (across Gynae and Colorectal)
