Salary Range: £109,725 - £145,478

Duration: Fixed-term (6 months), Full-Time (10 PAs + on-call)

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join a forward-thinking and supportive Emergency Department in the East of England. Main Duties:
• Wards/Departments: Provide consultant-level care within a purpose-built Emergency Department, including trauma, resus, majors, minors, and paediatrics.
• Patients: See a diverse caseload of ~76,000 patients annually, ranging from trauma cases to acute medical and surgical emergencies, with a higher-than-average elderly patient population.
• Colleagues: Work alongside a dynamic team of 10+ Emergency Medicine consultants, senior doctors, registrars, junior fellows, ACPs, ENPs, and allied health staff.
• On-Call Rota: 1:10 consultant rota (with plans to expand to 1:12), covering both weekday and weekend shifts with prospective cover for leave.
Non-Clinical Opportunities: Yes – allocated Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs) include teaching, research, audit, clinical governance, and leadership opportunities. Roles such as Educational Supervisor, Clinical Tutor, Governance Lead, or Clinical Director are available for interested consultants.

• Specialties: Full range including Surgery, Obstetrics, Medicine, ICU, and Paediatrics. Part of the Norfolk & Waveney ICS with strong links to regional university hospitals.
Research & Education: One of the UK’s most research-active hospitals for its size, with opportunities to teach medical students from Cambridge and UEA.

Requirements:
To be considered, you’ll need:
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• FRCEM (or equivalent experience).
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register 
• Current certification in ATLS, ALS, APLS/EPLS (with at least one at instructor level).
• Proven leadership, teaching, and commitment to continuous improvement.
