An NHS teaching hospital in Kent is recruiting a Consultant in Medical Oncology or Specialist with a specialist interest in Melanoma. The Oncology department includes more than 40 Clinical and Medical Oncology consultants, supported by a strong team of specialty doctors, fellows, and trainees.

 Applicants who require portfolio support (previously known as CESR) can have this discussed and arranged on a case-by-case basis.

Core Duties of the Role

  • Provide high-quality specialist care for melanoma patients attending the Kent Oncology Centre.
  • Attend MDT meetings and coordinate treatment planning with other specialists.
  • Take part in departmental research initiatives and contribute to both national and local clinical trials.
  • Contribute to the training and supervision of junior doctors and participate in clinical governance activities.

Job Requirements and Details

  • This Medical Oncology role is open to both UK-based and international applicants.
  • Doctors with European Specialist qualifications or MRCP are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • For a permanent Consultant post - A CCT in Medical Oncology (or equivalent experience, including CESR pathway eligibility) is required.
  • For a Specialist post – applicants must have 12 years of post graduate experience with a minimum of 6 in Medical Oncology
