Anaesthetics & ICU Jobs in the NHS
The main criteria for working in the NHS is to hold GMC Registration. In order to register with the GMC you’ll need to pass IELTS or OET alongside a recognised postgraduate qualification such as FRCA, EDAIC, EDIC or PLAB.
There are a whole host of job titles in the NHS and where you fit may depend on your qualifications and experience. As a general guide PLAB will get you an SHO or Junior Clinical Fellow role and FRCA, EDAIC or EDIC will see you taking a Senior Clinical Fellow, Speciality Doctor, Specialist or Consultant job.
If you’re new to the NHS you might want to pursue a career in General Anaesthetics or ICU or maybe a combined role that offers exposure to both. In the long term you’ll be able to continue your career in Pain Management, Neuro, Paediatrics, Obstetric, Cardiac or Emergency Care and Resuscitation.
