This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join the team and gain your experience in the Paediatric and Neonatal wards, working in a hospital that serves a Paediatric population of 77,000 children. This gives you a wide variety of conditions to be working in which will be perfect for developing your clinical skills.
Main Duties:
- Engage in bed-side teaching of Junior Doctor’s and medical students in the department.
- Take charge of Ward rounds and have regular supervised outpatient clinics.
- Understanding the roles and responsibilities of working for the NHS.
- Manage children in the Child Assessment Unit (CAU).
- Have awareness of the public health aspects of children’s health.
- Attend meetings as appropriate.
- Understand the balance and interaction of psycho-social and medical factors affecting children’s health.
The Hospital:
This hospital has a 20-bed inpatient ward, an Adjacent Children’s Assessment Unit & a Children’s Elective Care Unit. There are over 10,400 outpatient attendances each year & 1600 Paediatric admissions.
The Location:
- This hospital is located in a City with close links to central London by rail or road, as well as being very close to the seaside. This gives you great variety on how to spend your time on your days off.
- Education standards in the area are high so your children will have access to many good local schools.
- It’s a beautiful area with a interesting history and culture behind it and very popular local attractions to explore.
- The location is within a couple of hours away from Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports.
Requirements:
The team
are open to applicants from the UK or from overseas and will support you in
settling into the new role.
To apply
for this position, you will need the following:
- Full MRCPCH.
- GMC Registration.
- OET or IELTS.
- Up to date APLS and NLS (NRP)
- Knowledge of Child Safeguarding with a level 3 certificate desired.
- 5+ years of clinical experience.
- Registrar (or equivalent) level experience.
