BDI Resourcing are currently looking for an experienced Paediatric Doctor to work in an award-winning paediatric setting in a major acute hospital in south east England. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an advanced paediatric unit whilst being in a multicultural and diverse city. This role will suit a paediatrician with at least 4 years of experience working in a major Paediatric service. UK experience is preferred but international will be considered.

Main Duties:

This middle grade post in Acute and Emergency Paediatrics is at an ST3-8 level. It includes participation in a full shift on-call rota. The post-holder will be rotating between the paediatric wards, Children’s Emergency Department and the High Dependency Unit.

As a Registrar in Paediatrics, you will be expected to:

  • Work in a Children’s Emergency Department and a High Dependency Unit.
  • Work a combination of day shifts, long days, night shifts and weekends as part of a 13- full-time doctor rota.
  • You will rotate across all areas in paediatrics per the rota, and will independently hold registrar led outpatient clinics, supervised by a Consultant.
  • Direct safeguarding reviews and inform the safeguarding lead of any findings.

The Hospital:

This is one of the UK’s largest acute Trusts and operates across five main hospitals. The organisation values learning, teaching, training, and works together to always put the patient first.

The hospital currently sees over 26,000 children per year and is staffed by a dedicated team of 8 consultants in the department. The team consists of year 1 and 2 foundation trainees, GPVTS trainees and career paediatricians. Additionally, there is a team of two Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioners, five paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioners including a Nurse Consultant.

The hospital specialises in neurosciences, arterial vascular surgery, neonatal, paediatrics, cardiac, cancer, renal, infectious diseases and HIV medicine.

The city is on the coastline in the Southeast offering residents breathtaking views of the sea and iconic pier – perfect for leisurely strolls or relaxing weekends by the water.

This city is renowned for its diverse culture and atmosphere, from street art to live music and theatres making it an exciting place to live. The town has many food markets and international cuisine which caters to all tastes.

Despite being a bustling city full of a strong sense of community, this seaside town is home to numerous green spaces for outdoor activities, picnics, and relaxation.

There is a major railway station connecting this coastal town to London and other cities around the UK.

Requirements:

The team are open to applicants from the UK or from overseas and will support you in settling into the new role.

  • Ideally full MRCPCH, but would accept parts 1 and 2 if paired with excellent Paediatrics experience.
  • GMC Registration.
  • OET or IELTS.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience.
  • Registrar (or equivalent) level experience.
