Cancer Centre

This is a brand-new opportunity to join a large University Hospital NHS Trust with a developed and close-working multi-disciplinary Oncology service. The Trust has two tertiary referral centres for complex head & neck and colorectal cancers, collaborating closely to refer all radiotherapy patients to these standalone centres. The main hospital base has a state-of-the-art Macmillan Chemotherapy Day Unit with a well-established team of Consultant Oncologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), Middle Grade doctors and additional junior support. The Department treats patients with malignant solid tours and has approximately 40 patients attending daily from Monday to Friday. Patients attend for intravenous chemotherapy and other systemic therapy treatments.

  • The Trust is based in Central London and is well-connected to Heathrow International Airport
  • The cost of living in the area surrounding the hospital is comparably low to the rest of London, so you benefit from a lower cost of living whilst being extremely well-connected to the rest of the capital city
  • The hospital and surrounding area have a large international community and would be perfect for an overseas trained Oncology doctor looking for their first UK post if moving with their family
  • There is a variety of top grammar/private and state schools to choose from
  • It is a safe and friendly place to live and work with access to a multitude of religious and dietary amenities

The Requirements

  • Full GMC Registration (or have been invited to the ID check stage) – essential
  • Oncology specific experience of at least 3 years – essential
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent post-graduate qualification – desirable
