The Job
We are currently seeking an ambitious, innovative Medical Oncology doctor to join an experienced multi-disciplinary team in a Central London Trust, working closely with a specialist Breast Oncology team. The department will provide you with an educational supervisor in post to support your professional development as an NHS Oncology doctor and will be able to agree a tailored job plan to ensure further support within your areas of clinical interest. This job has no out-of-hours commitments on evenings or weekends, which will offer you a nice work/life balance in post. You will be on a standard 10 PA (Programmed Activity) 40-hour p/week contract, which will include:
- Working closely as part of the Breast Oncology multi-disciplinary team
- Prescribing chemotherapy and managing treatment complications (including relevant SACT training)
- Supporting Consultants in out-patient clinics
- Supporting the chemotherapy day unit
- Partaking in ward-rounds
- Teaching undergraduate/postgraduate/junior colleagues
- Participating in clinical trial recruitment
- Attending relevant MDT meetings

Cancer Centre
This is a brand-new opportunity to join a large University Hospital NHS Trust with a developed and close-working multi-disciplinary Oncology service. The Trust has two tertiary referral centres for complex head & neck and colorectal cancers, collaborating closely to refer all radiotherapy patients to these standalone centres. The main hospital base has a state-of-the-art Macmillan Chemotherapy Day Unit with a well-established team of Consultant Oncologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), Middle Grade doctors and additional junior support. The Department treats patients with malignant solid tours and has approximately 40 patients attending daily from Monday to Friday. Patients attend for intravenous chemotherapy and other systemic therapy treatments.

- The Trust is based in Central London and is well-connected to Heathrow International Airport
- The cost of living in the area surrounding the hospital is comparably low to the rest of London, so you benefit from a lower cost of living whilst being extremely well-connected to the rest of the capital city
- The hospital and surrounding area have a large international community and would be perfect for an overseas trained Oncology doctor looking for their first UK post if moving with their family
- There is a variety of top grammar/private and state schools to choose from
- It is a safe and friendly place to live and work with access to a multitude of religious and dietary amenities
The Requirements
- Full GMC Registration (or have been invited to the ID check stage) – essential
- Oncology specific experience of at least 3 years – essential
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent post-graduate qualification – desirable
