Cancer Centre

The Cancer Centre is part of a University Hospital Trust which serves a population of nearly 2 million. There are several hospital sites, and this post is likely to be based at the two main Oncology hospitals. The radiotherapy facilities provided in the two main hospitals include CT simulators and LinAcs. Treatment is VMAT delivered with IGRT and there will be the opportunity to work in SABR and brachytherapy. There are custom-built Oncology outpatient clinics and chemo units and a well-established acute oncology service which is well-staffed by nurses.

You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team, working with consultants, surgeons, physicians, and nurse specialists and contribute towards regular multidisciplinary team meetings. There are trainee registrars rotating in the Trust, so you’ll have lots of opportunities for teaching and training. The Cancer Centre is home to active cancer research teams which actively run clinical trials and collaborate closely with local Medical Schools and Universities.

  • The Trust is close to a couple of major coastal cities, which are large enough to have access to everything which you need, and small enough to be safe and friendly
  • You benefit from being a short walk away from stunning beaches as well as being surrounded by protected national parks and beautiful countryside
  • There are plenty of top schools in the area for all ages as well as major UK Universities
  • There are reliable and regular transport links nationally, as well as an airport nearby for international travel

  • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice, or invitation to ID check (essential)
