This is a fantastic role for a dedicated Paediatric doctor looking to work in a supportive NHS trust with a track record of onboarding and developing internationally trained doctors.


Main Duties

As a Specialty Doctor in General Paediatrics, you will be expected to:

  • Conducting daily ward rounds in the Children’s Ward, RGH and report to the consultant charge. Participate in PAU cover.
  • Supervision to Junior medical team and acts as a source of advice and support to the nursing staff.
  • See patients in A+E at the request of Paediatrics junior doctors and consultants.
  • To carry out safeguarding medical examinations when adequately trained.
  • Attend specialist clinics as per area of interest.
  • See new and follow up General Paediatric patients in the clinics under supervision of the consultant.
  • Participate in clinical/medical audit, teaching and research within the children’s service.
  • Managing the acute paediatric intake PCH with junior and consultant support.
  • Undertake professional development activities, audit and engage in the appraisal process.
  • There will also be opportunities to develop expertise in an area of Paediatric specialty such as Epilepsy, Diabetes, Allergy, Asthma, Cardiology, Community Paediatrics and Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics.

The Hospital

This is 570 bed hospital with a comprehensive range of in-patient, day case and outpatient facilities together with A&E and diagnostic facilities. The hospital contains a purpose-built Children’s Centre.

  • There are reliable national transport links as well as a large international airport nearby.
  • The cost of living is very low, and you will still have access to all the amenities you could need.
  • This is one of the safest areas in the UK.

Requirements

The team are open to applicants from the UK or from overseas and will support you in settling into the new role.

  • Full MRCPCH.
  • GMC Registration.
  • OET or IELTS.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience.
  • Registrar (or equivalent) level experience
