Specialty Doctor Acute Medicine

As a Specialty Doctor in Acute Medicine you will be part of a well run unit and a dynamic team handling all acute medicine cases and other medical cases. You will be required to be a senior figure within the team and demonstrate good leadership skills with others around.

Over night, you will be the most senior figure in the department with the support of a Consultant over the phone if needed. Other duties will include:

The Job

The Trust are seeking a Specialty Doctor to:

• Support the Emergency and Acute Medicine department.
• Participate in the medicine on call rota
• Responsible for clerking, admissions, day to day care for patients, medical referrals.
• Provide senior support to juniors and nurses working alongside you
• Required to participate in Teaching programmes
• Attend the appropriate courses and keep knowledge and code of conduct up to speed
• Quality improvement programmes
• Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and family members.

The Hospital

The hospital is a medium-sized tertiary centre. This will give you exposure to a range of different cases and facilities, it also allows you to work at a hospital where consultants will have the time to support you and ensure your development within the hospital.

The Requirements

• Full MRCP
• IELTS or OET
• GMC Registration
• Experience in Medicine
