Specialist Grade in Emergency Medicine
- MC70 Pay scale – (£81,500 – £92,500)
- North West

This position is for a leadership-experienced doctor who can deliver a high quality of care in this Trust’s Emergency Medicine Department. They are seeking a collaborative doctor who has experience in EM subspecialties to join their team in North-West England. This post is a great fit for a doctor who would benefit from an educational and supportive training environment. The hospital has all major specialities onsite and the department is classified as a Major Trauma Unit, meaning the chosen applicant will be working in a well-equipped site with the ability to receive training in various areas of the ED.
The Job
The post holder will autonomously provide emergency treatment to patients under their care, participate in some weekend and night shifts, complete clinical governance, and pursue their clinical development. With the full support of the team and the resources they provide in their well-stocked library, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in clinical courses and improve their clinical knowledge. With a record of assisting with Royal College exams, and a close relationship with the students at the universities in the area, the training support available to the candidate is met with a consideration for the individual’s personal development goals. The appointment would be 10PA (with the option of an extra 2PA) and included in this is 1.5 SPA (0.5 of which can be worked offsite according to any agreement).
The Location
The hospital is based in one of England’s quieter cities, with great transport links connecting to England, Scotland and Wales. Located close by to the Lake District and with direct links to bigger UK cities, this area is a perfect match for those who want to live in a friendly environment. In addition to this, the other benefits are great access to outdoor activities, lovely family homes, multiple leisure centres, an excellent selection of schools, and a reasonable cost of living.
The Trust
The hospital provides a team-oriented and guidance focused working environment within a medium sized 500 bed department. The successful candidate would be joining a warm team which operates within a University Hospital Foundation Trust, so they can expect to be given the educational support they may desire.
