As a Specialist in Elderly Medicine, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate medical care to elderly patients, catering to their specific healthcare requirements and enhancing their overall well-being. Your primary responsibilities include conducting geriatric assessments, making accurate diagnoses, and creating treatment plans. Main Duties:
- To provide high quality geriatric outpatient services to the elderly patients of the hospital.
- Working alongside other hospital departments to develop working policies.
- Develop new and innovative practices in patient management.
- Participate in the teaching and education of junior doctors, nurses, and other medical staffing.
- Ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
- Take part in the on-call rota as required.
The Hospital:
The hospital is equipped with modern facilities, such as a well-equipped endoscopy unit, advanced medical imaging department, and a department of critical care with 20 beds. It also houses a renal dialysis unit and a department of renal medicine. The hospital provides specialized care through dedicated wards for geriatric medicine, stroke, diabetes, endocrine, and respiratory medicine. Additionally, there is a 45-bed medical assessment unit managed by an expanding team of acute physicians, offering comprehensive care to patients. The focus is on patient-centric services, ensuring that they receive the right care by the most suitable team. This includes the establishment of a 16-bedded frailty assessment unit, catering to the needs of older patients who are frail and severely unwell. The unit provides holistic care and assessment by a skilled team before determining the appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, or community care for the patients.

Requirements:
